C4I Integration

c4i-integrationThe core functions of our products can be used as a part of a C4I system. The products provide the functions for Hazard Prediction risk management and utilizes the more general facilities such as mapping and communication from the C4I system. Our products are structured to meet a number of integration techniques. The choice of integration method depends on the level of integration.

The products are developed using a layered structure with the intention of facilitating integration into C4I systems. The areas where the functions from the C4I system can be used are:

  • Map services (GIS functions)
  • Communication Services
  • Message Handling System
  • Access Control and Security
  • Databases for storage and retrieval of Hazard information and unit positions

The current integration status includes:

  • Marconi Command and Control Information System (MACCIS)
  • Maneuver Control Systems (MCS/P, MCS Block III, MCS Block IV)
  • Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2)
  • Joint Maritime Command Information System (JMCIS)

In addition tests have been performed to show integration into Nordic Command and Control Information System (NOR CCIS).

Our integrated solutions provide C4I users with vital access to all Hazard related information, directly on the existing C4I infrastructure. This improves the overall situational awareness and provides a shared understanding of the operational situation in ample time to make an appropriate response.

We offer a variety of integration operation; they can roughly be grouped into three categories:

  • Detached
  • Integrated
  • Embedded


Detached

Detached denotes the provision of standard product software with an additional set of well-defined information exchange interfaces based primarily on file transfers.

Our products can operate on a C4I workstation or on a separate computer connected via LAN to the C4I network. Hazard situation information is generated by our software system and transferred to the C4I system using formatted files.


Integrated

Integration denotes the position of an NBC-ANALYSIS core package fully integrated with the particular C4I system services.

Integrated services are:

  • Mapping
  • Communication
  • Friendly Force database
  • Alert services

This integration type provides the ability to activate our software from a C4I system menu and then it will use the native C4I services to provide the calculation results and information. All map-related Hazard information will be provided as Hazard-overlays, directly on the C4I system map.
Our solutions will use the communication services and message handling provided by the C4I system for exchanging Hazard related information and messages to other systems.


Embedded

Embedded denotes the provision of our product functions and capabilities as components for full integration into the development of C4I systems. The components can be provided for the C4I systems developer or systems integrators. It is possible to select functionality to accommodate the specific requirements of the C4I system.

The components are available on most platforms. The embedded components provide interfaces based on the modern technologies (COM, COBRA, Web Services, SOAP) used in building C4I systems.

The NBC-ANALYSIS Web Service is in use as the WMD module of Tiger IM™.
